Awarded in the Fifth+ Licensing Round in May 2024, the project reflects Iraq\u2019s ambition to build a modern, resilient, and competitive energy sector.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"left\">Located northwest of Mosul in the Nineveh Governorate, the concession covers 359 km\u00b2, spanning the Alan (162 km\u00b2) and Sasan (197 km\u00b2) blocks. This area is recognized for its strong geological promise and proximity to future energy infrastructure.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"left\"><strong>Geological Potential<\/strong><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"left\">The project targets Tertiary and Cretaceous reservoirs, formations that have proven productive across northern Iraq.
